The Week in Bloggingportal: No Panic on Planet Brussels

Hey you, big politicians, big media, big players,

you would like us bloggers to talk about European summits and party pre-summits, European budgets and Greek debts, Eurozone crisis and Eurozone panic, wouldn’t you? You think we should focus on the couple Merkel-Sarkozy or on the clique Merkel/Sarkozy-Trichet/Draghi-Barroso/Rehn? You would like us to admit that the EU is not too big to fail?

Well, if you want that,

first come outside and see where we are camping in front of  your institutions and unveil your agenda for change. If you want us to notice your big politics, will you notice those at the periphery, those voting in Tunesia, those rioting on Mayotte, those who are hungry and need your support, need our support? You don’t? So why should we care for your games, negotiations, endless meetings that all sound alike to us.

Stop running around like ants that have lost their queen!

Calm down, come with us, take the train from the EU Parliament, and think about building Europe without Europeans instead of delaying a reform of the EU agriculturedelaying joint European positions on the international stage or handing out institutional journalism prizes while at the same time pretending to control global markets with your actions. We are not panicked, we just have difficulties believing you.

Yours sincerely,

Some of us who care

Post scriptum: Speaking of ants and their queen: Dear fellow Europeans on the British islands, you want to block EU initiatives to reform global markets? You want to have a referendum on leaving the EU, even if this may be a little hasty? Please go one, we still like you. You are old enough to do whatever you want.
