We’ve got a special announcement to make in today’s edition of “The Week in Bloggingportal“… and we think you’re going to like it!
Over the past few months, the editors here at Bloggingportal Towers have been working hard (with the help of the European Commission) to organise an EU/UK blogging event in London in December.
If you’re a UK or European blogger, then this is absolutely the event you want to see. We’ve got an amazing line-up of speakers for the panels – including David Rennie (The Economist), Guido Fawkes, Mats Persson (Open Europe), Nosemonkey, Jon Worth and Devil’s Kitchen.
There are also going to be loads of interesting people in the audience representing most of the UK’s major blogs – from Liberal Conspiracy and Left Foot Forward, to Labour List, Lib Dem Voice and MumsNet – as well as several Bloggingportal.eu editors – beside Nosemonkey and Jon Worth also Eurogoblin, Cosmetic Uprise, The European Citizen or Polscieu.
The event will take place at Europe House, 32 Smith Square, London SW1P 3EU from 1 to 6 o’clock pm on 10 December 2010. There will be a combination of panels, discussion and networking sessions. A light lunch will be provided, and there will be wifi provision and a charging station for laptops/mobile phones etc. Entry is free, but participants will need to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. But be quick! There is only limited seating available so places have to be reserved. If you’re interested in attending, then get in touch with us at info [at] bloggingportal.eu.
But not only that, there were more special announcements from European bloggers this week:
Jason O’Mahony harbingered that it would be hard to get rid of the European Union and EU Weekly announced that the EU Treaties were getting more and more unreadable. Thomas Roessler had announcements on an unlikely conference on the EU’s digital agenda and on L’experience européenne, Jean-Sebastian reported the life of a journalist from behind the scenes of the European Council (while Etoile looked at the event via the web).
Hungarian Spectrum heralded the story of Victor Orban’s European travels while 27etc foretold that Paris’ plans to become the first European megacity are yet to materialise. On the legal front, martinned informed that Alstom lost in case against Eurostar and Siemens while the EU Energy Policy Blog knows that the French Electricity Act may not be compatible with EU law.
More announcements made this week in euroblogs: Ireland is in economic troubles (Stephen Spillane), the USA has voted (Gulf Stream Blues & EurAmerican), the EU is criticising its own security policy (netzpolitik.org), the Hermanator can’t satisfy the crowds (The Brussels Jungle), the French-British defence deal has its first victim (Bruxelles2), Barroso and van Rompuy refuse to respect the transparency clause of the EU Treaties (Democracy for Europe), EU citizens have rights [sic!] (Grahnlaw) and, last but not least, there are many funny causes you can lobby for in the EU (Euros du Village).
So, The Week in Bloggingportal was full of announcements, and we are sure there will be more over the days to come. To be continued next week…
